LAKE LURE LAKEFRONT - INTERNET ACCESS - FIREPLACE - BOATHOUSE AND DOCK SPACE - PAVED DRIVE

The modest exterior of this single-level Lake Lure lakefront home surprises with a large, well-appointed interior. You would likely never guess it was a 3-bedroom/2-bath home. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or just a quiet, peaceful escape with friends and family (sorry, no four-legged guests). This home is 2.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 4.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 16.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Upon entering, the dining room has seating for 4 (plus 4 stools at the kitchen bar) and a lovely sitting area. Beyond is the living area, with additional seating, a gas fireplace, and a flat-screen TV (basic channels). Internet is also available. What the U-shaped kitchen lacks in size, it makes up for in the cabinet storage space while still offering the necessary full-size appliances (refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave).

The king-bed suite has doors that open onto the lakeside deck, providing comfort and a perfect way to wake in the morning. The room also has a cozy club chair and an adjoining full bathroom.

There are 2 additional bedrooms with queen beds, a full bathroom, and a laundry closet in the hallway. This home offers comfortable sleeping for 6. If you want to bring additional guests, the sofa is available, or bring an inflatable mattress.

The Outdoor Amenities Offer Additional Surprises

The rocking chairs on the covered front porch beckon you to come and relax. Their lakeside deck has nice furniture (dining set and rocking chairs) and a gas grill. Enjoy your meal on the upper-level viewing deck of the boathouse or take in the area's splendor.

Inside the boathouse are 2 kayaks for your use. The dock is a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water or bring your boat for use on the lake (see the boating regulations for additional information).

Lake Lure Beauty Year-Round

This home is perfect for every season. In spring, the bushes and trees on the shady wooded lot and down the long drive will begin filling with leaves. Summer weather in the area is great most of the time. Autumn brings plenty of visitors to the area for the extraordinary colors. They are even more beautiful when reflected on the lake. With the absence of leaves on the trees in winter, you will see entirely new landscapes.

Plus, the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area and surrounding communities have so much to offer, including restaurants, shopping, and fun outdoor adventures you and your loved ones will never forget. See the Amenities and Notes for just a sampling of what is available.

This home is 2.8 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 4.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 16.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.

The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure, including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, hiking, museums, and theater; the Biltmore Estate and Village; shopping and restaurants; and so much more. It is only 15 minutes from Bat Cave, 35 minutes from Hendersonville, 50 minutes from Asheville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), with over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure), with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

Cute lake house tucked in the trees. The house was very cute and cozy. The covered deck was nice to sit out and read in the morning before heading down to the water. We loved the boathouse. It was nice having a place to soak up the sun and the little area to jump from was an extra bonus. There were three kayaks and a couple floats to keep us entertained. We brought fishing gear but at the time of our visit there were plenty of rods and lures at the house. The cove was quiet and we had the water all to ourselves while we were there. Our family would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Stiles Lake House. It was better that we expected compared to what was in the description of the property. It was clean and had all what we needed from the kitchen and grilling utensils, dishes, to the kayaks. We did have to bring our own life jackets. There were also a couple of dvds and puzzles that were available to be used for the guests which was an added bonus. The only reason not giving a 5 star rating is because there was a small bee/wasp hive on the tree branch close to the grill area. There were several bees/wasps which bothered us a little while we were grilling food. We reported this and hopefully whoever manages the property will take care of that. It takes about 70+ steps to get to the boathouse. Wished it was closer to the house, however, most of the steps were easy to walk on and getting to the water was worth the steps. When planning for another rental in Lake Lure, we will definitely highly consider renting Stiles Lake House again.

The Stiles Lake House is an extremely well-appointed, comfortable home. We enjoyed our 8-night stay there a great deal. The location is convenient to everywhere you want to go in Lake Lure, including the great restaurants downtown and Ingle's Market, which has everything you need for cooking meals at home. The grill is the best we've ever had at a vacation rental, and after reading warnings about how sketchy internet service can be in the mountains, we were delighted to find that the speed was great, even better than we've had at rentals at the coast where there are no obstacles like the mountains. The only quibble we had was that the view of the lake from the back porch was limited and you had to be able to do the steps down to the boat house to enjoy a true view of the water. My husband did that and said it was lovely, but I am unable to climb that many steps so I couldn't dare to go down. This is the only reason I'm giving the property four stars instead of five. But if you're in better shape than I am as I approach age 80, you should have no problem with the stairs. I also want to comment Carolina Properties for their great service. Any time I emailed them a question, I got a prompt reply and everything was handled quite smoothly and far better than we've had with some rental firms.
